Valups is a company that develops home multimedia products and was established on January 2008 and Humax Digital invested Valups January 2008. Valups also have a right to use the intellectual property of IPTV solution and home convergence product of icube(www.icube.co.kr). After the spin-off, Valups has maintained close relationship with icube in sale and development.
The major business area is IPTV Set-top box and DLNA solution now. Regarding IPTV area, Valups has great experience of IP STB or Hybrid STB that enables VOD feature on top of current cable or satellite STBs. DLNA(Digital Living Network Alliance : www.dlna.org) is an industry standard for home networking. It enables users to share all of media file such as video, photo and music in home network. DLNA is a key technology for home device such as TV, STB, PVR and DVD/Blue-ray to share multimedia files between devices seamlessly. Valups commercialized this technology as a real product first and has been providing to digital TV and STB manufacturers worldwide.
